Mount Semeru erupted violently on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 2:13 PM, unleashing widespread chaos in Lumajang, East Java. The core danger came from massive pyroclastic flows (APG) that surged 7 to 8.5 kilometers down the mountain's southeast flank. Following the destruction, the Lumajang local government immediately declared a seven-day Emergency Response period, starting November 19 until November 26, 2025.
